Uddhav Thackeray to take oath at Maharashtra’s 18th CM today

The political mayhem that Maharashtra witnessed post assembly election results were declared on October 24 has finally come to an end with Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray taking over as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra today. The ceremony will be held at 6.40 pm at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

Thackeray will be leading a government of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which is an alliance of Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress.

Meanwhile, Thackeray, in a telephonic conversation, invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Party leader Aaditya Thackeray personally met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh and invited them to attend the function.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and DMK leader MK Stalin are also invited for the oath ceremony. Though, Delhi CM has expressed his inability to attend the event.
