Sushmita's comeback with web series 'Aarya' woes viewers

Crime and family drama Aarya that marks the comeback of actress Sushmita Sen after nearly a decade, released on the digital platform today. Directed by Ram Madhvani, the story revolves around a drug syndicate in Rajasthan, and is a good combination of emotions and thrill.

The story is about Aarya played by Sushmita Sen, who is happy being a mother of three and a loving wife to husband Tej (Chandrachur Singh), till the time he is shot in broad daylight by a drug mafia. The series is about how Aarya takes over Tej’s business, which is neck-deep into illegal activities, and the rest of the series is about worth-watching cat-and-dog game.

During the entire series, the always-elegant Sen plays her part with élan and graduates from being a timid person, caring mother to a protective one. However, one cannot miss the fact that not a single strand of hair goes out of place – even while being chased.

The nine-episode web series is based on a Spanish series Penoza and is well-scripted by Sandeep Srivastava and Anu Singh Choudhary. The storyline moves forward swiftly and smoothly without many loose ends and all actors deliver their characters really well.

Co-directed by Sandeep Modi and Vinod Rawat, the directors has taken care to beautifully pan the camera to capture the ornate havelis, stone-walled houses, the traditional attire and the state’s culture in totality.

In short, the series is worth watching
