SSR’s last film, Dil Bechara, to get a digital release on July 24
Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s (SSR) last film ‘Dil Bechara’ will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar on July 24. As a tribute to the late actor, who was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, the OTT platform has said that the movie will be available even for non-subscribers.
Announcing the release of the film, hotstar tweeted through its official handle, “A story of love, hope, and endless memories. Celebrating the late #SushantSinghRajput's legacy that will be etched in the minds of all and cherished forever. #DilBechara coming to everyone on July 24.”
Besides Sushant Singh Rajput in lead role, the film also stars debutant Sanjana Sanghi as the female lead and Saif Ali Khan in a cameo, while the music has been composed by AR Rahman and the lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The film also marks the directorial debut of Mukesh Chhabra.
Debutant Sanjana Sanghi took to social media and said, “A story of love, of hope, and of endless memories. Celebrating our dearest, and the late #SushantSinghRajput ‘s legacy that will be etched in the minds of all and cherished forever.”
Director Mukesh Chhabra said, “Sushant was not just the hero of my debut film as a director, but he was a dear friend who stood by me through thick and thin. We had been close right from Kai Po Che to Dil Bechara.”
He added, "He had promised me that he would be in my first film. So many plans were made together, so many dreams were dreamt together but never once did I ever imagine that I would be left alone to release this film. He always showered immense love on me while I was making it and his love will guide us as we release it.”
The movie is the official remake of John Green’s novel and 2014 Hollywood romantic drama, The Fault in Our Stars.
