Trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Wednesday tweeted, “While #KabirSingh is all set to surpass the lifetime biz of #Uri today (Wed), let’s have a look at the 10 highest grossing films in #Hindi...#KabirSingh holds the No 10 rank, while #Uri moves to the 11th position...List follows.”
In the tweet that followed, he gave a list of 10 highest lifetime grosser films - Baahubali2 (Hindi), Dangal, Sanju, PK, Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Padmaavat, Sultan, Dhoom3, and Kabir Singh.
It may be noted that the film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, sparked a huge debate with its portrayal of an aggressive protagonist and predictions that it would not make an impact at the box office.
The analyst also said that the film remained steady at the box office number even on the third Tuesday having released on June 21. The film released across 3,123 screens in India and a total of 493 screens overseas. Remake of Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh is also the fourth Bollywood flick of 2019 to gross over Rs 20 crore on its first day.
