Roshni Nadar Malhotra to head HCL Tech as father Shiv Nadar steps down
India’s wealthiest woman and daughter of Co-Founder of HCL Technologies Shiv Nadar, Roshni Nadar Malhotra (38), took over as the company’s new Chairperson after an announcement made during the regulatory filing on Friday. However, Shiv Nadar will continue as HCL Managing Director (MD) and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of the company.
Prior to her appointment to the current post, Malhotra was serving in different capacities of Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HCL Corporation, Vice-Chairperson of Board of HCL Tech and Trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation which runs on the not-for-profit Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering in Chennai.
She also heads the VidyaGyan Leadership Academy, which is meant for the economically underprivileged meritorious, rural students of Uttar Pradesh.
Malhotra joined the HCL Tech’s Board as an Additional Director in 2013 and since then has been actively involved in brand building activities across HCL Group.
Over the years she has won many accolades and awards and ranked 54th in Forbes’ list of ‘The World’s Most Powerful Women’ in 2019.
