RCB vs. RR IPL: Match Called Off Due To Rain; RCB Knocked Out
Game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) was washed off due to the rain interference at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. RR won the toss and decided to bowl but the rain delayed the start of the match.
Finally match was decided to be played for five overs as side game by the umpires. From the RCB side skipper Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers opened the innings and scored 23 runs in the first over of Varun Aaron. In the second over the tides of the game changed when Shreyas Gopal took hattrick and helped RR to restrict RCB at 62/7.
Chasing a total of 63, RR started cautiously scoring 22 in the first two overs. In third over Sanju Samson changed the pace of the game by hitting 17 runs in the over. From the bowling end Kohli bought Yuzvendra Chahal in to attack who dismissed Samson on the second bowl of the over. After which rain started again and the umpires finally decided to call off the game. Both teams got one point each and the RCB got knocked out of IPL whereas RR survived in the series to enter the next round of IPL.
