RBI appoints former deputy governor R Gandhi as additional dir Yes Bank
The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday appointed its former deputy governor R Gandhi as the additional director on board of YES Bank on Tuesday.
Gandhi occupied the office from May 14 to May 13, 2021 or till further orders – whichever is earlier, said a release.
Gandhi was RBI deputy governor during April 2014 and April 2017 after which he retired. He was in charge of portfolios like banking operations and development, non-banking supervision, risk monitoring, etc. The banking regulator generally appoints board members for strengthening governance in banks, says a report.
Yes Bank posted its first-ever quarterly loss of Rs 1,507 crore in the March quarter under its new MD and CEO Ravneet Gill who took charge from Rana Kapoor.
Yes Bank’s shares closed at Rs 156.15 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 0.84 per cent over Monday.
