Ram Mandir foundation laying ceremony in Ayodhya will be held in April
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust that met for the first time on Wednesday evening said that the foundation laying ceremony in Ayodhya would be held sometime in-between April 2 (Ram Navami) and Akshay Tritiya (April 26). The meeting was held at the residence of the head of the Trust K Parasaran to oversee the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
In its endeavour to move things forward, the 15-members of the trust constituted a Ram Temple Complex Development Committee to decide on the construction of the temple. It elected former Principal Secretary of Prime Minister Modi Nripendra Misra as its chairman, Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das as its President and Vishva Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) Vice-President Champat Rai as the general secretary.
Apart from them, Swami Govind Giri Maharaj has been elected the Trust’s treasurer. He along with Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra has also been authorised to co-sign all documents regarding the Trust’s bank account, which will be opened in State Bank of India, Ayodhya.
In the meeting, a resolution was also passed in which the Trust thanked the PM, the Centre and the UP government for their ‘positive role’ in the Ram Temple issue.
As the meeting proceeded, the members decided that the basic model of Ram Temple will continue to remain as that proposed by the VHP, but it could be bigger in size. The formation of the trust was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 5 in adherence to the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya dispute in November last year.
