Raj BJP president Madan Lal Saini passes away due to lung infection
Rajasthan BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Madan Lal Saini passed away on Monday morning while undergoing lung infection treatment at AIIMS in Delhi. He was 75. Saini breathed his last at 7.09 am. He was first admitted to a private hospital in Jaipur, but was shifted to Delhi due to his rapidly deteriorating health conditions. Saini was being treated under the Hematology department at AIIMS.
Saini, who hailed from Sikar district, was appointed BJP state president in June 2018. A large number of BJP leaders and workers gathered after hearing the news of Saini’s death.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing his deep sorrow tweeted, “The passing away of Shri Madanlal Saini Ji is a major loss for the BJP family. He contributed to strengthening the Party in Rajasthan. He was widely respected for his congenial nature and community service efforts. My thoughts are with his family and supporters. Om Shanti.”
Home Minister Amit Shah, Vice president Venkaiah Naidu, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP national working president JP Nadda, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other leaders of BJP paid tribute to the departed soul.
Saini’s body was taken to Jaipur at night and was kept at BJP office till 10 am for the people to pay their last respects. Last rites will be performed at 3 pm at Sikar.
