Rahi, Saurabh make India proud by clinching golds in ISSF WC at Munich
Apurvi Chandela, Rahi Sornobat and Saurabh Chaudhary made India proud after winning golds at the ISSF World Cup 2019 in Munich on Sunday. With this victory, the lady shooter has confirmed her and India’s slot in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in 2010.
26-year-old Apurvi shot 251 points in the finals, while Rahi took the top spot in the 25 meter Pistol event and 17-year-old Saurabh bagged the 10-meter Air Pistol category.
Rahi started with three hits. She kept getting stronger, scoring perfect 5s in the the 8th and 9th series to finish with 37 points.
Saurabh broke his own world record of 245 by shooting 246.3 points in the final to take the summit standings, says a release. He also holds the world record in 10m Air Pistol category for both senior and junior level and bagged gold in Youth Olympic Games (2018) and gold in 2018 Asian Games. With this India now has three golds to its credit and thus, tops the chart.
