Prez Trump calls moon part of mars; Gets trolled with witty one-liners, memes

The US President, Donald Trump, is being trolled for his poor knowledge in astronomy and calling Moon part of Mars.

In a tweet he posted on Friday, he said, “For all of the money we are spending, NASA should not be talking about going to the Moon – We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), defence and science.”

Trump’s tweet was in response to NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine’s statement made a day earlier.  He had said that the US astronauts would not be able to make a lunar landing by 2024 unless Trump administration’s $1.6 billion budget increase request is not approved by the US Congress.

Twitteratis made fun of his knowledge and one of them even pointed out that the President less than a month ago had praised NASA’s plans to send a mission to the moon.

A twitter bug Jeremy Newberger wrote, “Trump’s knowledge on this matter is one small step for man, one giant leap backwards for mankind.”

Another post written by Dave Meltzer read, “We elected a guy president who knows astronomy not quite at the level of my son when he turned 4.” Another micro-blogger cautioned saying, “Please keep this tweet away from your children’s reach!”

It may be noted that the Red Planet has two moons, phobos and deimos. And the moon that orbits the earth is the latter’s satellite and is not part of mars.
