Prez Trump accepts PM Modi’s invite to ‘Howdy Modi’; Pak gets sore throat
The news of President Donald Trump accepting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invite to attend the ‘Howdy Modi' programme in Houston, Texas on September 22 could be a setback for Pakistan. PM Modi welcomed Trump’s decision to attend the event where he would be addressing about 50,000 Indian-Americans later this month.
Confirming the news, PM tweeted, “A special gesture by @POTUS, signifying the special friendship between India and USA! Delighted that President @realDonaldTrump will join the community programme in Houston on the 22nd. Looking forward to joining the Indian origin community in welcoming him at the programme.”
In his another tweet, PM Modi wrote, “The special gesture of President Donald Trump to join us in Houston highlights the strength of the relationship and recognition of the contribution of the Indian community to American society and economy.”
However, after the news of Trump attending the event went afloat, Pakistan’s prominent analyst asked in disbelief, “Is this for real or is it propaganda?”
It may be noted that Pakistan had raised the pitch on the Kashmir issue and warned that he would be approaching the United Nations soon seeking global intervention. During that time PM Modi would also be in New York.
