PM Modi to unveil bronze statue of Ex-PM Vajpayee on his 95th b’day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the 25-feet bronze statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to mark the latter’s 95th birth anniversary. He will also lay the foundation stone of Atal Bihari Medical University on the occasion.
The statue was built in Jaipur for which nearly Rs 90 lakh was sanctioned. The event will be graced by Governor Anandi Ben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The PM will also deliver a 25-minute speech in honour of the former PM.
Sources reveal that the state has planned grand events to mark the occasion. On Tuesday, the department of culture organised a seminar on ‘Rashtradharma Va Rashtravaad Aur Atal Bihari Vajpayee’.
Earlier during the day, President Ramnath Kovind, PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla visited the former PM’s memorial Sadaiv Atal in Delhi to pay homage to him. The PM also tweeted, “The citizens of this country give their tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is in their hearts, on his birth anniversary.”
Apart from these, the Rohtang pass in Himachal Pradesh’s Solang Valley will also be named after the former PM.
