PM Modi concludes weeklong US tour with tweets of gratitude for US Prez, citizens
Prime minister Narendra Modi’s weeklong visit to the United States concluded on Saturday with a series of posts posted by him on Saturday. In the tweets, PM Modi thanks US president Donald Trump and the people of the country for extending warmth to him.
In one of his tweets he wrote, “Wherever I went, whoever I met, be it world leaders, industrialists or citizens from all walks of life, there is a great spirit of optimism towards India. There is also immense appreciation of India's efforts to improve sanitation, healthcare and empower the poor.”
Sharing his views in another tweet he wrote, would like to express gratitude to the people of USA for the exceptional welcome, warmth and hospitality. I would also like to thank @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and other respected Members of the American Congress and Government.”
On Friday, he addressed the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) where he urged the international community to stand united against terrorism which he described as one of the biggest challenges for the entire world. He also spoke on issues like development, security and climate change that need the attention of world leaders.
It may be recalled, that PM Modi started his US tour with a mega event organised by the Indian community in Houstan, Texas on September 22 following which he met industrialists and held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA.
