Oppo, Vivo to launch next-gen smartphones soon, iPhone 12 gets delayed
The Smartphone industry is gradually picking up speed with companies such as Oppo, Vivo and Samsung starting to launch their products soon.
Oppo Find X2 series will be making a digital launch in India on June 17. The series was floated in Europe in March. The series include, Oppo Find X2, Oppo Find X2 Pro, Oppo Find X2 Lite, and the Oppo Find X2 Neo. However, the company is still mulling whether to launch all four phones to India or just the Oppo Find X2 and Oppo Find X2 Pro.
The Find X2 and Find X2 Pro come with 120Hz Ultra Vision display and are powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC. They bear a triple rear camera setup and house a 32-megpaixel selfie camera. However, the Find X2 Pro has two 48-megapixel rear cameras while the Find X2 has a single 48-megapixel main camera.
Apart from this, Vivo is also likely to launch – Vivo X50, Vivo X50 Pro, and Vivo X50 Pro+ series launch though the exact date is not known yet. The CEO of Vivo India, Jerome Chen said that the series will be coming to India soon. Currently, the launch will be held in China.
The Vivo X50 series supports 5G and have multiple cameras at the back. The Vivo X50 Pro + is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, while the Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro phones use Snapdragon 765G SoC. All Vivo X50 series phones come with in-display fingerprint sensor, 32-megapixel selfie camera, and include up to 256GB of internal storage options. Vivo X50 series’ starting price is estimated to be around Rs 37,100 and the most premium Vivo X50 Pro+ model could cost Rs 63,300.
The next in league to launch its next-gen products is Samsung. The company will launch Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra on August 5. This would be the tech giant’s first digital launch. The company is also likely to unveil other new products such as next-gen, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Tab S7+, and Galaxy Watch 2 which is being touted to be the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’event.
The smartphone Note 20 Ultra runs on Exynos 992 SoC or Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and is coupled with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of RAM. The phone is said to come with a 108-megapixel camera along with 13-megapixel and 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras. The phone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery.
Meanwhile, Apple’s iPhone 12, which was to get a September launch, has been postponed. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hock Tan said, “This year, we do not expect to see this uptick in revenue until our fourth fiscal quarter. So accordingly, we expect, our wireless revenue in Q3 will be down sequentially.”
Sources close to the company said to expect the iPhone 12 to be launched in sometime October.
