L&T bags SJVN’s mega project worth Rs 7K cr
Infrastructure major Larsen and Tourbo’s (L&T) power business has bagged a mega order worth Rs 7,000 crore from Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Thermal Pvt Ltd to set up an ultra-supercritical power plant in Buxar district, Bihar.
L&T confirmed the report on Monday, but did not provide the exact value and other details of the contract.
SJVN Thermal is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN, a joint effort of Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh and also a Mini Ratna Public Sector Undertaking.
A report said that the scope of the work for L&T includes design, engineering, manufacture, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of Buxar Thermal Power Project (2x660 MW) on turnkey basis covering steam generator, steam turbine, generator, electrostatic precipitator etc.
The foundation stone of the plant was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March this year.
