Kia Motors reveals first look of mid-size SUV
First look of South Korean car-maker, KIA Motors’ most awaited compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) to be launched in India is out. The company has released its illustrations on Tuesday and will formally launch its first product in the second half of 2019.
The official sketches of the beast show the exterior design of the upcoming mid-size SUV which resembles the SP concept put on display at the Auto Expo in 2018.
The front of the car looks crisp due to the angular character lines and it has a tiger nose. The SUV has been designed aggressively and looks extremely muscular. The LED headlamps and 3D graphics with diamond pattern at the edges bring in a sense of modernity to the design. Speaking about the rear profile, the SUV continues to have an imposing look with a large rear bumper, scuff plates, stylish LED tail lights and reflectors on either ends, states a release. The beast offers two power units -1.5 litre petrol and diesel units, but is yet to reveal the might of the engine.
The sketches, however, do not reveal the side profile and the interiors of the upcoming model. Head of KIA Styling at KIA Motors Corporation released a statement saying, “We have created a car which stands out everywhere from the city to the countryside. Its robust yet sporty design will be matched by a wide range of features and technologies that are universally suited to younger buyers in markets around the world. Out new mid SUV is a proposition that no other car in its class will match.”
The beast will be manufactured at Kia Motors’ plant in Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh.
