Khattar, Chautala to meet Governor Arya today to form government
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is set to resume office with 11-month-old Jannayak Janta Party’s (JJP) Dushyant Chautala as his deputy. Both the party leaders will meet the Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya in Chandigarh on Saturday and stake their claim to form the government.
The two parties will stake claim to form a government on Saturday after Khattar is elected as leader of BJP legislature party in Chandigarh. While BJP stole the show with a majority of 40-seats (6 less than an absolute majority), the JJP won 10-seats in the 90-member assembly.
Sources reveal that Chautala met his father Ajay in Tihar jail before taking a final call on the party’s course of action.
BJP President Amit Shah also met Chautala at his residence on Friday and later met the media persons announcing that the Haryana CM would be from BJP and the Deputy CM from the regional party. Chautala too speaking on the issue said, “Our party had decided that for the betterment of the state, it is important to have a stable government.”
Chautala sealed the deal with BJP after negotiating deals like 75% reservation of jobs for residents of Haryana and continues with a pension for senior citizens.
