Delhi special police nabs JeM militant; to be brought to Delhi on transit remand
A team of Delhi police special officers arrested Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Abdul Majeed Baba from Sri Nagar on Saturday evening. He was arrested by a team led by Deputy commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav from Soura in downtown Sri Nagar and will be brought to Delhi for intensive questioning on transit remand on Wednesday. The terrorist carries a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh.
A resident of Magrepora, Baba was involved in a 2007 shootout between the Delhi police and terrorists in which three terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir and one from Pakistan managed to escape during the encounter. Baba was arrested with another terrorist Ahmed Sajad Lone. The two had escaped together in 2007, says a report.
He has been produced before the chief judicial magistrate Sri Nagar and he will now be brought to Delhi for further probe.
