Congress asks partymen to refrain from TV debates

In a major move post the crushing defeat at the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress has circulated an internal circular directing its partymen to refrain from participating in any television debates of any channel. The party is undergoing extensive brainstorming and introspection sessions.

Communications in-charge of Congress party, Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted “INC India has decided not to send spokesperson on television debates for a month. All media channels/editors are requested to not place Congress representatives on their shows.”

The move is being touted to be the immediate fallout of complete confusion in the party, uncertainty over its political future and speculations of leadership crisis whether Rahul Gandhi will relinquish the post or retract.
