Clip of full-grown crocodile over a roof submerged in flood-hit Karnataka goes viral

A 15-second clip of a full-grown crocodile atop a totally submerged house in flood-hit Belgaum district of Karnataka on Sunday has gone viral. The 10-foot reptile had its mouth wide open and slipped into the water before the forest officials could rescue it as the onlookers pelted stones on it.
The video was shared with the tagline, “A crocodile lands on roof of a house in flood-affected Raybag taluk in Belgaum.” Within hours, the video gathered more than 46,000 views.
Several similar videos and pictures have cropped up with crocodiles being found in the drains of flood-hit regions of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka in the past few days.
Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa on Saturday conducted an aerial survey and announced Rs.5 lakh compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. Till now, according to the state disaster monitoring centre, over 5,81,702 people have been evacuated from flood-hit areas in Karnataka.
