Chhichhore is relatable and relevant; thumbs-up for Nitesh Tiwari
Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore is a perfect story of students in an engineering college - friendships, romances, fights, hostels, sports ground and more. The movie is high on content and comes with the message that it is not a failure, but the fear of failure that one needs to work upon.
The story revolves around a divorced couple Anirudh (Sushant Singh Rajput) and Maya (Shraddha Kapoor) and their young son Raghav. But they get devastated when their young son Raghav commits suicide after their split. Anirudh starts spending time with Raghav and tells him stories from his own college days (20 years back) when he fell in love with Maya and formed life-long friendships with Sex (Varun Sharma) Derek (Tahir Raj Bhasin) Acid (Naveen Polishetty), Mummy (Tushar Pandey), Bevda (Saharsh Kumar Shukla) and others. Soon the group reconnects and the time and distances fade away.
The film is full of comic punches, one-liners that the young movie goers love. The film is detailed and the portrayal of characters is outstanding. All the characters look convincing when they play the college-goers as well as the 40 plus-year olds. However, Shraddha Kapoor could have done better with some more dialogues. Even the prosthetic make-up could have been better, but overall the film is a must-watch.
