Auto Expo 2020 kicks off; features host of launches and unveilings
Major automobile companies from Indian and abroad are showcasing their latest models at the Auto Expo 2020 that commenced today at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The event will conclude on February 12 and the theme for this year’s expo is Mission Green Million. The event is being jointly organised by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Society of Indian Manufacturers (SIAM).
The event was kicked off by Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa. At the venue, he said, “Our theme at the Auto Expo 2020 - Mission Green Million - explains our commitment towards bringing affordable and sustainable green technologies for India. We aim to manufacture and sell the next million green vehicles at a much faster pace, over the next couple of years.”
The event, which is the world’s second-largest motor-show, takes place every two years and features a host of launches and unveilings. This year the expo has big names like Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Renault, Great Wall Motors, Kia, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Morris Garages put up their swanky products of cars, MUVs/SUVs, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, concept vehicles, vintage cars, supercars, and bikes.
However, reputed companies like Honda and BMW will be giving the event a miss. While most brands have announced plans for models with exquisite features and looks, Volkswagen is rumoured to be launching a new logo and design.
