Akshay Kumar is Tinsel Town’s only star on Forbes Highest-paid celeb list
Actor Akshay Kumar has upped his way to 33rd position in Forbes’ annual highest-paid celebrity chart list with earnings of $65 million last year. Singer Taylor Swift, however, has once again secured the top berth after 2016 with her earnings of $185 million.
Forbes termed the actor as ‘Bollywood’s top-earning star’ and added that the actor pulls in at least $5 million and up to $ 10 million pr film apart from minting millions from endorsements with over 20 brands. He ranked 76th on the 2018 Forbes list with an earningof $40.5 million followed by Salman Khan on 82nd position with $37.7 million earning.
It may be noted that Forbes compiled its 2019 list by estimating pre-tax earnings from June 2018 to June 2019 before deducting fees for managers, based on data from Nielsen, touring trade publication Pollstar, movie database IMBD and interviews with industry experts and more information from the celebrities themselves.
Celebrity-turned-makeup mogule Kylie Jenner, who was crowned youngest self-made billionaire last year, follows swift with $170 million earnings and her brother-in-law and singer Kanye West taking the third slot with $150 million earnings. Kumar defeated the likes of Rihanna, Jackie Chan, Bradley Cooper and others to win the spot.
