Three militants killed in Shopian during search operation

Three militants were killed in an ambush with Indian security forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning. The firing was reported in Adkhara area of Imam Sahib. The encounter broke out after forces laid cordon and search operation in the area, says a report.
The operation was jointly carried out by 34 Rashtriya insurgency rifles of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF. Soon there occurred an exchange of fire injuring a jawan.
Reports reveal that the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander and the last surviving terrorist of the former commander Burhan Wani group, Latief Tiger was also among the three killed apart from one Tariq Moulvi and Sharik Ahmad Nengroo of Chotigam Shopian, confirms a report.
Two AK 47 rifles and a self-loading rifle were recovered from the area. Search and cordon operation is underway.
