Selfies with ‘critically endangered gorilla’ species goes viral
A selfie of two anti-poaching rangers with two huge gorillas shot at Africa’s oldest and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Virunga National Park, on social media is garnering a lot of hits. The park is also one of the rare biologically diverse protected areas.
The picture titled ‘Another day at the office’ was posted on the official page of The Elite AntiPoaching Units and Combat Trackers and credited to Ranger Mathieu Shamavu from the Democratic Republic of Congo, says a report.
The picture shows the comfort level between animals and locals of Virunga. The picture was posted to raise awareness about the ‘critically endangered species’ who could face possible extinction due to habitat loss, poaching, etc.
