Prime Minister addresses Dawoodi Bohra sect in Indore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Dawoodi Bohra community today in Indore and will also meet the religious head of the community, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. This is the first time that any Prime Minister will address a religious congregation of the Dawoodi Bohra community. PM Modi reached the Saifee Mosque where he is addressing the Ashara Mubaraka, Commemoration of the Martyrdom of Imam Husain (SA), organized by the Dawoodi Bohra community. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, MP Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also attended the event at Saifee Nagar Mosque. The state government has tightened the security at and around the venue by deploying 3500 police personnel and installing CCTV cameras. The city has also been made a no-fly zone for a day. This is the second major event organised by the Muslim community that Modi will be participating in. In 2016 he attended the World Islamic Sufi Conference in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and his presence was objected to by sections of Muslims, who had accused the PM of trying to divide the community.
