Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wrote to around 2000 citizens from different walks of life inviting them to be a part of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Movement’ on Saturday stating that the cleanliness drive is aimed to fulfil Bapu’s dream of ‘Swacch Bharat’. In a video conference with people from different walks of life including Amitabh Bachchan, Ratan Tata, Sadhguru, and Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi said “Swacch Bharat Mission that began four years back has reached an important stage today, where we can proudly say that people from all sections have joined us in the mission”. "Four years ago, you introduced the nation to the Swachh Bharat Mission. I too decided to get involved as a citizen of India. I have been associated with various cleanliness campaigns including the campaign to clean a beach in Mumbai," Amitabh Bachchan said to PM Modi on the success of the ‘Swacch Bharat Mission’. While business tycoon, Ratan Tata said that the strength of a country's foundations is determined by the health of its citizens. "To be a strong India, the foundation has to be strong and that foundation is the health of our people," he said. PM Narendra Modi reached the Baba Sahib Ambedkar Higher Secondary School on Saturday where he cleaned the surroundings himself. He even picked paper pieces and disposable glasses with his hands. Modi also had an interaction with school students where he explained the importance of cleanliness to them.
