Navjot Singh Sidhu attends Imran Khan’s oath ceremony

Cricketer-turned-Politician Imran Khan’s oath ceremony as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan was held today. The swearing-in was administered by Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain. Former cricketer and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu was present for the ceremony as a Special Guest and his seating was arranged next to President of POK (Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir). Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa gave a warm welcome to Navjot Sidhu with a hug at the oath ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. Reportedly, Sidhu also brought a Kashmiri Shawl for former Pakistan Test Captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan. Sidhu hoped that Imran Khan will be good for Pakistan-India peace process. "A new morning is here in Pakistan with a new government which can change the destiny of the country," Sidhu said to state-run PTV. Former Indian Cricketers Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar were also invited for the ceremony, but, had declined the invitation citing personal reasons and prior work commitments, respectively.
