MS Dhoni pays highest income tax of Rs.12.17 Crores


Former Indian Cricket Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni becomes the highest tax payer in the states of Jharkhand and Bihar by paying income tax of Rs.12.17 Crores for the assessment year 2017-18, a senior income tax official said.

“MS Dhoni has been the highest individual tax-payer in Jharkhand and Bihar for the 2017-18 FY” Nisha Oraon Singhmaar said, the joint commissioner of income tax (IT) headquarters of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Reportedly, Dhoni had paid Rs.10.93 crores income tax for the financial year 2016-17, informed Chief Income Tax Commissioner V Mahalingam.

According to the Forbes, Dhoni is the third highest earning cricketer in India ater Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. And also estimated that the 2011 world Cup winning caption’s net worth in 2017 was Rs.63.7 crores and has listed at No. 8 in the list of India’s highest earning celebrities in the same year.

Forbes has also estimated that the net worth of Captain Cool in 2015 was $111 million from both his salary and endorsements. He featured in the Forbes List of top 100 richest athletes on the planet in the same year.

Recently during the England ODI series, Dhoni became the only cricketer to enter 10,000 ODI runs club with batting average of over 50. He also become the third fastest Indian to join the league after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
