Madhya Pradesh’s girl makes the state and country proud by climbing the peak of Mount Everest. Megha Parmar from a small village Bhojnagar in Sehore district proved that once a person has a core desire to achieve something, no hurdles can actually stop them. The 24 year old Megha had also hoisted the Indian flag on the Himalayan mountain range Dev Tibba last year.

Sharing her mountain climbing experience, she said, “I felt motivated after reading about mountaineer Ratnesh Pandey in 2015.” Further adding, she said, “When I contacted MP sports department, I came to know that there is no female mountaineer from state to have scaled Mount Everest. I took it as a challenge”.

To achieve her goal, Megha underwent training sessions in Manali from March 3 to 19 where she was trained with rappelling and other techniques.

Megha is pursuing her M.SC in Yoga and also took part in save environment, women empowerment, water conservation, de-addiction programmes through NSS.
