Lalu Yadav Admitted To Mumbai Hospital

MUMBAI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav was admitted to the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai on Wednesday. The former Bihar chief minister arrived in Mumbai along with son and RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and daughter Misa Bharti.


Lalu was sentenced to jail since December 23 in the fodder scam case and out on bail of six weeks on medical grounds.

“A team of five doctors — a general surgeon, physician, nephrologist, diabetologist and cardiologist has been put together to examine and treat him as required,” the hospital officials informed.

On August 27, 2014, Yadav underwent a treatment for heart ailments, blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney problems. Cardiac Surgeon Dr. Ramakant Panda performed the treatment procedures in a 16-hour span.

Hospital officials said on Wednesday that a general surgeon, physician, nephrologist, diabetologist and cardiologist, will precede the treatment on Yadav.

According to the medical report, Lalu’s kidneys were not functioning in proper manner and his sugar levels were also on the higher side. The report also mentions that the RJD supremo is suffering from Fistula problem.
