Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul fined for sexiest remarks
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Ombudsman DK Jain have asked Hardik Pandya and opener KL Rahul to donate Rs 1 lakh each to widows of 10 constables in paramilitary forces who have lost their lives on duty. The duo will have to pay the amount as punishment for their sexiest remarks on Karan Johar’s TV show Koffee with Karan. Also, within four weeks, the two will also give Rs 10 lakh each to the Cricket Association for the blind and if they fail to do so the BCCI is liable to deduct the said amount from the players’ fees.
The order has come even when the players have missed out on the earnings of about Rs 30 lakh as they had been sent back from the Australian tour. However, the fine is being considered as an important step as the cricketers are considered as role models in India.
The players have apologised and did not resist the punishment taken them which closes the matter. The ban has been provisionally lifted pending inquiry.
