Bollywood Actors Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan had made it again by securing position among the World’s 100 highest paid celebs of Forbes list, while King Khan of Bollywood failed to find a place in the list. In 2017, Shah Rukh was ranked 65th on the list with to earnings of $38 million.
According to Forbes list, American Boxer Floyd Mayweather is the highest paid celebrity with $285 million earnings followed by Actor George Clooney ($239 million), businessperson Kylie Jenner ($166.5 million), Judy Sheindlin ($147 million), Dwayne Johnson ($124 million), U2 ($118 million), Coldplay ($115 million), Lionel Messi ($111 million), Ed Sheeran ($110 million), Cristiano Ronaldo ($108 million). Whereas, Akshay is ranked 76th and Salman on 82nd position.
Akshay (50) had earnings of 40.5 million dollars. Describing Akshay, Forbes said “one of Bollywood’s leading men has transitioned to socially-conscious roles,” citing his films such as Toilet: Ek Prem Katha that focussed on government campaigns to improve sanitation, and Padman which revolves around a man hoping to provide inexpensive sanitary pads to rural communities. He also mints millions from profits and endorsing about 20 brands.
Salman (52) had earnings of USD 37.7 million. Forbes said he remains one of India’s top earners and the “Bollywood mainstay” continues to produce and star in hits such as Tiger Zinda Hai, cashing in on backend profits.
