DRI seizes marijuana worth Rs 1.6 cr on Hyd-sholapur route
Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized marijuana worth Rs 1.6 crore from three persons at Bhuvanagiri district in Hyderabad. About 1121.5 kilograms of cannabis was neatly stacked in 546 HDPE packages wrapped with self adhesive tape and concealed beneath a load of fly ash bricks.
Acting on a tip off, DRI officers intercepted a truck at Panthangi toll plaza on Vijaywada-Hyderabad National Highway. A report reveals that the stuff was loaded at Sileru and was on its way to Sholapur, Maharashtra. The drug and vehicle have been seized under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
