Captain Virat Kohli regains in ICC Test Rankings
Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli has been in astounding form in Test series against England and has been ranked the no.1 on the ICC test ranking charts. The ranking came after a successful test match at Trent Bridge, where he scored 97 and 103 runs in two innings, respectively. India won the match by 203 runs with score of 1-2 in five-match test series. Virat’s marvellous innings have taken him to 937 rating points, highest of his career so far, taking him on the foot marks of former Australian International Cricketers Donald Bradman and Captain Ricky Ponting. Virat Kohli has become the only captain to score 200 runs or more in a Test match in a winning cause seven times. Kohli is now just one point away of breaking into the all-time list. ICC Test ranking’s top players include Donald Bradman with 961 points, Steven Smith with 947 points, Len Hutton with 945 points, Jack Hobbs and Ricky Pointing with 942 points each, Peter May with 941 points, and Gary Sobers, Clyde Walcott, Vivian Richards, and Kumar Sangakkara with 938 points each.
