This year, the theme of the show is ‘Adey Raho’ (stay determined) and the first special episode of the season will be aired on Friday with none other than ‘Mother of Orphans’ Sindhutai Sapkal. What touched the audience most was the veteran actor’s gesture when he welcomed the 70-year-old social activist by touching her feet. The actor also praised how Sapkal nurtured and adopted over 1200 children singlehandedly in a lifetime.
Sindhutai Sapkal is a renowned social worker, who has received over 750 awards and was honoured with Naari Shakti 2017 award on International Women’s Day by President Ram Nath Kovind. In 2016, she was bestowed upon with a Doctorate in Literature by the DY Patil Institute of Technology and Research.
She also shared her life journey and spoke about how she was kicked out of her husband’s house. However, she credited her in-laws for the achievements she made in her life.
Quizzing her on her personal life, Big B asked her about her view on forgiveness, she replied, “First of all I forgave my husband and in-laws for pelting stones at me and throwing me out of the house. But had they not done so, I would not have reached where I am today. Years later when he returned, I told him that I did not want to live like a wife and he would be welcome if he was willing to live as a child with me.”
During an interaction, she won the hearts when the host asked her the reason why she wore only pink sarees, to which she replied with warmth and a smile, “I have seen enough of black, so let there be some pink.”
Her replies won accolades from the audience. The episode will be aired on August 23.
