Asian Games 2018 updates: Amit Panghal claims India’s only boxing gold

On Saturday, Amit Panghal claimed India’s another gold medal in boxing event at Asian Games 2018 with superb strategic win over reigning Olympic and Asian champion Hasanboy Dusmatov in the summit clash. The 22-year old Panghal became the only Indian to make to the finals in boxing event at Asian Games. Panghal defeated Dusmatov by 3-2 in men's Light Fly (49kg) boxing event on Day 14. While Vikas Krishna clinched bronze in the middle-weight category at boxing event. Pranab Bardhan and Shibnath Sarkar also bagged gold in men’s pair bridge event making a gold tally of 15. Pranab and Shibnath finished at the top scoring points of 384 in the finals. Women’s squash team, comprised of Dipika Pallikal, Johna Chinappa, Tanvi Khanna, and Sunayna Kuruvilla, clinched the silver medal.
